Katie has been trying to figure out ways to make money, because she wants a Nintendo DS game that is around $30. She finally came up with a good solution. Her friend Svea decided to have a lemonade stand in her front yard today, and Katie set up a portrait studio along with it. She charged $2 for a portrait, or $1 if you just wanted her to draw a picture of something else. She made $13.
So, we can now say our daughter is a professional artist. Here's the picture she drew of me (she added the self-portrait for free, but I still had to pay $2.)

Oh yeah, and my birthday is coming up...
Katie and Shannon can be a great team - Katie can do the drawings and Shannon can finishing up by putting in some color!
As one who buys art, I've got to say that I'm impressed. I especially appreciate Katie's negotiation skills!
