On Saturday, three "bachelors" took seven kids to Great Falls Park in Virginia. Justin (Amber was in New York), Tim (Debby was getting moving stuff ready), and I (Karla's in Bahrain), with all the kids, had a fun time hiking around and scrambling over rocks. The kids thought it was cool that we could see Maryland across the river. On Sunday, we all went back to the park, this time from the Maryland side. These pictures are only from the Virginia side, though, because I left my camera in the car on Sunday.
The stable where Katie rides had a show today, and Katie was very excited to enter it. She was judged on three events, against 4 other riders of about her same experience. I can't remember the actual event names, but they all had to do with following commands, riding form, control, etc. As you can see, Katie was happy taking 2 second-place ribbons, and 1 third-place ribbon.
Yes, I'm old. We went to Medieval Times on my 45th birthday. We ran into some old friends (the Veseys) who just happened to be going the same night we were. The kids had fun playing with Andrew, and we all had fun cheering on the Red & Yellow Knight. Alas, he was killed in the joust...
Russ is husband to Karla and father to wonder-twins Nic & Katie. He's a graphics guy who only occasionally updates this blog with the somewhat interesting stuff we do as a family.
