POW! Science! Birthday Party

The kids had their birthday party at POW! Science! this year, and got to do fun science stuff with 13 of their friends. They did the classic Mentos/Diet Coke thing and created little rockets from water and seltzer tablets. Scott the science guy also filled a balloon with hydrogen from acid and aluminum foil, and then set it ablaze. It was cool!

Karla's Birthday Cruise

We went on a dinner cruise on the Schooner Aurora for Karla's birthday. Karla and I enjoyed some wine. The kids enjoyed hoisting the sails and made some new friends.

Katie can ride a bike

We got the kids bigger bikes, because their old ones were a bit too small. Both kids can now ride!

Nic can ride a bike

Karla gave Nic & Katie a challenge: to ride their bikes by their 9th birthday. Here's proof that Nic rose to the challenge. Katie's not quite there yet, but making progress...

Katie can ride a horse

Katie loves her riding lessons, and her new horse Wizard. She actually cantered last week (a little scary, but she's looking forward to doing it again.) 

Her confidence is much better than it used to be, and she's a better rider than her dad will ever be!
